SUMMARY:Stang Thang
DESCRIPTION:The Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium presents a Stang Thang on Saturday\, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  This event will feature Mustangs of the road and air: Ford Mustang cars and P-51 Mustang aircraft; in conjunction with TASM’s first officially sanctioned chili cook-off. \nIn partnership with the Green Country Classic Mustang\, this event will feature a car show with about 50 mustangs.  The cars will be competing for a “People’s Choice” trophy\, with the winner being selected by museum visitors.  Regular museum admission is required for access to the event and a “People’s Choice” voting ballot. \nIn addition to the classic sports cars\, a P-51 Mustang will be on display at TASM.  This vintage warbird is arguably the most successful and most versatile fighter of World War II.  During the war\, P-51s carried out nearly 214\,000 missions in all theaters of the war\, destroying 4\,950 enemy aircraft! \nVisitors can enjoy these iconic vehicles while sampling the finest chili of Tulsa.  The museum is excited to announce their first official chili cook off contest.  The contest is officially sanctioned through the Chili Appreciation Society International.  The chili cook off will begin at 9 a.m. with turn in time at 1 p.m.\, public tasting and awards ceremony to follow official judging.  Interested cooks can find more details on the CASI website. \nThe perfect event for those who enjoy classic cars\, vintage warbirds and champion chili!
