DESCRIPTION:TASM’s Stang Thang is back!  In partnership with the Green Country Classic Mustang\, this event will feature a car show with about 50 mustangs.  The cars will be competing for a “People’s Choice” trophy\, with the winner being selected by museum visitors.  Regular museum admission\, not including planetarium\, is required for access to the event and a “People’s Choice” voting ballot. This event will feature Mustangs of the road and air: Ford Mustang cars and a P-51 Mustang aircraft. \nThis event will run from 10am-2pm\, but TASM is open until 4pm! TASM will have one food truck on site\, Brite Ice Sno Cones! Seating will be available under the MD-80 jet airliner\, enjoy lunch around Mustangs of the land and air! Members enjoy early access to the museum hall at 9:00am\, with a special planetarium show at 9:30am. Members will also enjoy a member lounge in our conference room with complimentary water available to beat the heat! \nMasks are required for Planetarium entry only\, all PPE (in form of masks and gloves) will be available for free and are recommended\, though not required for entry to the car show event. SUMMARY:TASM's New Operating Hours into Effect
DESCRIPTION:Beginning June 29th\, 2020 the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium operating hours will change to Thursday-Friday 10am-4pm. TASM will be closed to the public Monday-Wednesday. TASM’s exhibit hall and planetarium will be open to the public\, with ticketing available online as well as onsite for purchase. There will be no required appointments\, certain high-touch areas/exhibits will remain closed\, and there will be a guided path for guests to follow. All cleaning procedures will be in accordance with CDC guidelines and public health and safety officials. TASM will be monitoring the recent spike in COVID-19 cases\, and will make changes to our health and safety guidelines as needed.

TASM will be hosting a Telescope 101 workshop in partnership with the Astronomy Club of Tulsa from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday\, February 29th\, 2020 in the Planetarium lobby. \nThis free event is open to the public and will have members of the Astronomy Club of Tulsa on hand to assist anyone who may have received a telescope as a gift or have an old one in the closet\, learn how to assemble and operate it properly. \nIf you plan to attend\, RSVP in a time slot below. Please fill out only one (1) RSVP per group or family – 1 telescope = 1 RSVP. You are welcome to bring multiple people in your group. \nBe sure to bring all accessories and manuals that come your with telescope. Due to demand for this event\, we have a limited number reservations available. DESCRIPTION:Got a brand new telescope\, or maybe an old one gathering dust…that you need some help learning to use? TASM will be hosting a Telescope 101 workshop in partnership with the Astronomy Club of Tulsa from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday\, Jan. 11\, 2020 in the Planetarium lobby. \nThis free event is open to the public and will have members of the Astronomy Club of Tulsa on hand to assist anyone who may have received a telescope as a gift or have an old one in the closet\, learn how to assemble and operate it properly. \nIf you plan to attend\, RSVP in a time slot below. Please fill out only one (1) RSVP per group or family – 1 telescope = 1 RSVP. You are welcome to bring multiple people in your group. \nBe sure to bring all accessories and manuals that come your with telescope. Due to demand for this event\, we have a limited number reservations available. If there are no RSVP time slots shown below\, please RSVP via the “Waiting List.” \nDuring the workshop\, the Planetarium will be running the full-dome feature show\, “Two Small Pieces of Glass” – an exciting journey into the history of telescopes\, how telescopes work\, and how the largest observatories are using these instruments to explore our universe. This free 25-minute show will run continuously from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Regularly scheduled Planetarium shows will resume at 3:00 p.m. \nThe Astronomy Club of Tulsa was founded in 1937 and is a volunteer-run\, nonprofit club of over 150 members with a domed observatory located south of Tulsa.
