The Tulsa Air and Space Museum is proud to announce that its newly acquired A-10 Thunderbolt II—coming to the museum in March 2026.
The A-10 will be restored, painted, and displayed with pride on the museum grounds, where visitors of all ages can learn about its unique mission and the heroes who flew it. A dedication ceremony will be held upon its arrival, with veterans, active-duty service members, and community members invited to celebrate this historic addition.

WHAT IS OPERATION WARTHOG
Operation Warthog is more than an aircraft arrival. It is a historic moment for Tulsa and a major milestone for Tulsa Air & Space Museum.
In 2026, the museum will proudly welcome an A-10 Thunderbolt II, one of the most iconic combat aircraft ever flown. Known for its unmistakable sound, rugged design, and unmatched close air support capabilities, the A-10 has protected troops on the ground for decades.
This aircraft will be preserved as a permanent static display, giving visitors the rare opportunity to experience the Warthog up close and learn the story behind its legendary service.

The A-10 Thunderbolt II—affectionately known as the “Warthog”—is one of the most iconic aircraft in U.S. Air Force history. Known for its unmatched durability and the unmistakable “BRRRRTT” of its GAU-8 Avenger cannon, the Warthog protected ground troops for decades.
Now, with your help, we can bring this legendary aircraft to Tulsa, permanently restoring and displaying it outside the Tulsa Air & Space Museum.
