Meet the RIO: Eric Benson
Join the Tulsa Air & Space Museum on September from 5:00 to 7:00 PM for a special Members Event featuring Captain Eric Benson, former F-14 Tomcat Radar Intercept Officer and commanding officer of VF-41. With more than 4,000 hours in the Tomcat, 1019 carrier landings, and 44 combat missions during Desert Storm, Eric brings an incredible firsthand perspective on one of the most legendary aircraft in the U.S. Navy history.
During this special evening, Eric will share stories from his naval aviation career, including carrier operations, life aboard ship, and what it was like to serve as a Radar Intercept Officer in the F-14. Guests will also hear about his connection to TASM’s own F-14 Tomcat and the story behind how the aircraft ultimately became part of the museum’s collection.
This is a unique opportunity to hear aviation history directly from someone who lived it, learn more about the people behind the Tomcat, and experience the story of TASM’s F-14 in an entirely new way.
