October 4, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

A-26 Lady Liberty & Operation Warthog at TASM

Saturday, October 4 | 9 AM – 4 PM

Step inside history this October as the iconic A-26 Lady Liberty visits the Tulsa Air and Space Museum! Guests will have the rare opportunity to climb into the cockpit and experience this legendary aircraft up close during special cockpit tours — included with regular museum admission.

Alongside Lady Liberty, we’re excited to welcome A-10 pilot Kenneth Craib, who will be on-site to meet with guests and share his stories from the cockpit of the A-10 Thunderbolt II, famously known as the Warthog. He’ll also talk about Operation Warthog, our effort to bring an A-10 to TASM for permanent display.

A-26 Invader “Lady Liberty”

Lady is the oldest flying Invader, the 130th one produced, being accepted in Aug, 1944, at Long Beach, CA. It was flown to Great Dunmow, England arriving 20 Sep, 1944. It was assigned to the 9th AF, 410th BG and began combat operations in early 1945.

The Douglas A-26 Invader (designated B-26 between 1948 and 1965) is a twin-engine light bomber and ground attack aircraft that was built by Douglas Aircraft Company during World War II which also saw service during several major Cold War conflicts. A limited number of highly modified United States Air Force aircraft served in Southeast Asia until 1969. It was a fast aircraft capable of carrying twice its specified bomb load. A range of guns could be fitted to produce a formidable ground-attack aircraft.
