The Galaxy Ball takes place within the Museum’s expansive Exhibit Hall, surrounded by rare and historic aircraft, extraordinary aviation artifacts, and one-of-a-kind pieces representing more than a century of flight. Guests will dance beneath the wings of legendary aircraft, including an F-14 Tomcat, while exploring a venue unlike any traditional ballroom.
Commanding the center of the Museum is an exclusive recreation of the façade of Tulsa’s original Municipal Airport—a magnificent tribute to the city’s celebrated Art Deco heritage. The recreation incorporates original architectural elements, including the historic entrance doorway and original sconce lighting fixtures, and meticulously captures the distinctive geometric details of Tulsa’s aviation age.
High above the entrance, the iconic Art Deco Angel overlooks the Museum and the evening’s festivities, creating a dramatic backdrop worthy of a royal court.

Prepare for two thrilling live sword-fighting exhibitions as skilled knights take the field and blades clash before the gathered court. Guests will witness the spectacle of medieval-inspired combat brought to life with dramatic swordplay, skill, and pageantry worthy of the Galaxy Ball.

The Crowning of the Galaxy Ball
King & Queen
Every great court must have its sovereigns.
As the evening unfolds, guests will gather for one of the signature traditions of the Galaxy Ball—the ceremonial Crowning of the King and Queen of the Court.
Amid music, celebration, and the assembled kingdoms of the Galaxy Ball, two members of the realm will be called forward to receive the crowns and take their places as the evening’s royal King and Queen.
Come dressed as royalty, warrior, fae, dragon rider, sorcerer, villain, adventurer—or whatever extraordinary character your imagination creates—and join the court for a crowning ceremony befitting a night of fantasy.
The court awaits its King and Queen.
The Grand Costume Contest
Tonight, you are invited to become someone—or something—extraordinary.
The Galaxy Ball welcomes fantasy costumes of every realm and imagination. Arrive as an elegant member of the royal court, a fearsome knight, enchanted fae, dragon rider, witch, wizard, mythical creature, beloved literary character, legendary villain, or an entirely original creation of your own.
Then prepare to face the most unpredictable judges of all:
The Court itself.
Finalists will be presented before the assembled guests, and the winners will be determined by audience applause. No secret scores. No mysterious panel hidden away in a tower. When your favorite takes the floor, cheer loudly enough for the entire kingdom to hear you!

The Knighting Ceremony
There are moments when simply saying “thank you” isn’t quite enough.
During the Galaxy Ball, the royal court will pause its festivities for a very special ceremonial tradition—the Knighting of an Honored Guest.
Before the assembled court, our special guest will be summoned forward, presented to the realm, and formally recognized in a ceremonial knighting complete with sword, pageantry, and a little Galaxy Ball magic.
It is a moment designed to celebrate someone whose contributions, character, or service deserve recognition beyond the ordinary.
As the sword is raised and our honored guest kneels before the court, guests will witness the transformation from honored visitor to Knight of the Galaxy Ball.
Then, when the newly appointed knight rises, we invite the entire realm to welcome them with the celebration they deserve.

Our two-bar experience is designed to keep lines shorter and the festivities flowing, while giving VIP guests an additional level of convenience and exclusivity.

Guests can park in the Tulsa Air & Space Museum’s private, well-lit parking lot, conveniently located just a short walk from the Museum’s front entrance. Security cameras provide additional monitoring of the parking area throughout your visit, so you can leave the worries of the outside world behind and prepare to enter the realm.
The Museum is also committed to making the Galaxy Ball welcoming and accessible. Designated accessible parking spaces are located near the entrance, with wheelchair-accessible routes and ramps providing easy access from the parking area into the Museum. Accessible entrance doors with assistance features make entering and exiting easier for guests with mobility needs.
